Conversations from the Future: Artist Marguerite Humeau in conversation with Hayward Gallery Senior Curator Dr. Cliff Lauson.
Conversations from the Future is a talks programme that accompanies the exhibition Adapt to Survive: Notes from the Future at HENI Project Space, Hayward Gallery.
Marguerite Humeau is a London-based French artist whose work seeks to unpack the relationship between fact and fiction, history and collective imagination, and myth and science.
Self-identifying as ‘Indiana Jones in Google Times’, Humeau’s research-based practice calls on the expertise of scientists, archaeologists and anthropologists to reimagine organic forms with biological and mechanical engineering.
Humeau’s work has been presented at Tate Britain, Palais de Tokyo, Serpentine Galleries, Nottingham Contemporary and the Victoria and Albert Museum. She has won numerous prizes, including the British Society of Sculptures Award in 2014.
